Several accessories have been developed to be used with the new PC USB TR reader, based on an innovative modular concept, and providing several ways of use and integration.
All the accessories are very simple to use and install. The user needs no technical knowledge nor mechanical tools.

GemPC Pinpad
GemPC Pinpad is a new class 2 reader featuring a keypad and display, adding Secure PIN Entry (SPE) functionality to the Gemplus PC-Link readers range.
Security and confidentiality
GemPC Pinpad provides a highly secure way to enhance your smart card-based application, by protecting the smart card PIN code from unauthorized access. The PIN code is entered locally and safely on the reader, and is thus never transmitted to the PC. This is especially relevant for corporate security, Internet commerce and online banking services, where strong security and confidentiality is a must.
Easy of use
GemPC Pinpad comes with a large 2 lines and 16 characters display, to guide and help the user with PIN entry and change operations. User interface is available in several languages and new ones can be easily programmed.
Integration and maintenance is simplified by re-using GemPC?s drivers and GemCore Pro firmware, already implemented in GemPC readers and partner keyboards

GemPocket
One-Time Password and challenge–response functions
Gemalto Pocket reader is a handheld device designed to secure authentication of cardholders for remote banking, e-commerce or network access control applications.
The reader’s main role is to prevent the user to type his/her PIN on the workstation keyboard,which is considered a vulnerable environment.
After having inserted its smart card, the Gemalto Pocket reader user is invited to enter his/her PIN code. Then the reader formats and displays the One-Time Password (OTP) computed by the card. The OTP is a unique and non-reusable numeric password that allows the remote server to authenticate both the smart card and its owner. This two-factor authentication is a strong
alternative to static password schemes or token devices currently used today.
To secure important transactions, Gemalto Pocket reader also displays digital signatures according to the challenge-response
mechanism.
A standard generic device
The Gemalto Pocket reader family is compliant with the standard industry specifications: EMV,MasterCard/ Visa Chip uthentication Program (CAP) and therefore accepts the most common banking cards in the market. Since the smart card handles both the personal data of its owner and the cryptographic algorithms, the reader is the same for all users and cost effective. It does not require any personalization.

GemSelf700
The GemSelf700 is a dual acceptor smartcard reader/writer with built-in keypad, display, real-time clock etc.. This ergonomic smartcard reader is suitable as a POS reader, as a payment terminal, as a debit/credit terminal for customer loyalty points, as an ID terminal or as a reloading terminal for gaming applications. It can be used stand-alone or as a peripheral device, connected to the data processing system. In stand-alone mode must be personalized for the specific application prior to use.

Product overview
MySIMeditor is a PC based application designed to offer SIM and USIM cards data management functions, it can be used in different environments :
- by GSM or UMTS subscribers : at home or in corporate environment (company's fleet manager)
- by network operators in points of sales or for retailers
Plug your (U)SIM card in the MySIMeditor's smart card reader and go through the MySIMeditor's graphical user interface to access the following functions (list is not exhaustive) :
- Phone book management : create/update/delete contacts in card's phone book. If the card is a USIM (3G) card, MySIMeditor allows you to define several phone numbers for a contact (Home, Office, Mobile...), e-mail addresses, groups
- Card copy : copy data (including phone book, SMS) from old (U)SIM to new (U)SIM when changing card.

GemCore Architecture
The GemCore concept is the result of years of R&D, based on the expertise of the world's leading provider of plastic and smart card-based solutions. The GemCore technology is made of components, tools and services.
The architecture features the Micro Controller (MC100) which contains the GemCore firmware and manages all the communication between the smart card and the integrating device, and the Interface Chip (IC100 or IC20) that ensures a high reliability for read/write operations.

GemCore410-EMV
The OEM Smart Card Reader 
The GemCore410-EMV is a modular, yet very compact coupler. It offers the simplest means of integrating an EMVCo approved smart card reader into different types of electronic equipment.
Built around the GemCore technology, this coupler allows larger systems to easily access all types of smart cards through an on-board or external smart card connector.
A Security Access Module (SAM) can also be connected to the board.
The interface with the host processor is a serial TTL or RS-232 link. The communication protocol is supplied as a C language source code library (GILK). PC/SC drivers are provided for Windows enviroment.
GemCore500-MS4
The Multi-SAM OEM Smart Card Reader
The GemCore 500-MS4 (formerly known as the GCI400-MS) coupler is a modular, multi-SAM, yet very compact OEM Smart Card reader. Built around the GemCore™ Original V1.10 architecture, it is equipped with all the hardware and firmware components required for easy integration into larger systems and equipment.
The GemCore 500-MS4 integrates programmable memory. It can run embedded applications; its electronic system manages the interface with one main Smart Card, four Security Access Modules (SAM) and a real-time clock. Several external peripherals such as a display, a keyboard and a buzzer can readily be connected.
The GemCore 500-MS4 is thus perfectly designed for integration into automated or vending machines. It is especially well designed to meet the requirements of electronic-purse applications.
